Fusarium spp. in Human Disease: Exploring the Boundaries between Commensalism and Pathogenesis

Fusarium is a large fungal genus that widely distributed in the environment, mostly known for its plant pathogenicity. Rarely, it involved human pathology, where type of infection caused highly dependent upon portal entry and immune status host. The study at hand aims to summarize routine methods used diagnosing such infections as well more advanced molecular diagnostic methods, techniques can play huge role differentiating between colonization when trying decide therapeutic outcome. Consequently, further support our findings, two different strains (one isolated from corneal scrapings one purulent discharge) were analyzed clinical context thoroughly tested using classical modern methods: identification by macroscopical microscopical examinations culture mass spectrometry, completed PCR trichothecene ERIC-PCR genetic fingerprinting.
